These are my young chick friends! They keep me young, which is a good thing since I turn 45 next month! Koodos to Susan (with baby), Amy, Dawn, Jessica, Holly, and Becca. I'm taking the picture and one of the other Mentor Moms was not with us that night.
I always wanted to be a part of a MOPS group when I actually was a MOP. Or I guess that is I was a mop (not a MOP) because I never was part of an official group. So I'm grateful to these ladies and to the Lord for letting me join up even though I am now a MOT - mother of teenagers! Yes, I'm the older, wiser woman and I'd rather be the cool young chick, but oh well. At least I don't have to change diapers, wipe up drool, or pick up plastic toys anymore.
These girls are such fun and they keep me constantly aware of where I've come from. Life has been a splendid journey and as I look back to my years as a young mom I'm amazed at how far God has taken me since then. You really do gain a little insight and perspective in your 40s. Thank God for that. Still it's nice to be reminded of the fresh and eager and unjaded perspective of the young mom too. Let's face it, each phase is wondrous and fun!
