Buena senior Daniel Harms makes the volley against his Sunnyside opponent during his match in Sierra Vista on Wednesday. The Colts beat a very short-handed Blue Devil squad in their final home contest of the season. (Mark Levy-Herald/Review)
Daniel finished up his final season with the Buena Boys Tennis Team this past week. He won his final match and even got his picture in the paper. Of course I wasn't there to witness this victorious culmination of three years of tennis. Daniel gets nervous if we're there and rarely allows us to watch him. Plus, he didn't really think he was going to get to play in this match because he knew the opposing team was bringing only a few boys due to bad grades (I think). But I applaud Coach Krieg for allowing two seniors to finish up the season with the only two matches of the day. Daniel didn't exactly burn up the court this season, but he enjoyed his team and I know he'll miss the sport. Good news is he can continue to play for the rest of his life. And I hope he will.
